Mamfe Grammar School Ex- Students Breace Up For 40th Anniversary

Meeting last 10 September 2009 at the spacious and conducive residence of Justice Paul Bachuo A., Senior State Counsel for Meme Legal Department, Mamfe Government Grammar School Old Students Association, MAGGSOSA, Kumba branch have vowed to storm Mamfe in grand style and distinguish themselves during the forthcoming 40th anniversary celebrations of GHS Mamfe's slated for October 2009.

Under the chairmanship of Felix Akwa Nzeme, third batch graduate and the current Divisional Officer for Kumba III subdivision, the MAGGSOSANS Kumba chapter pledged to beat all other chapters in terms of promoting the association's activities in Kumba and beyond, preparations for the forthcoming event to hold in Mamafe town, and above all, to meet up with their financial obligations even before the Buea slated National Convention, billed for 26 September 2009.

The Government Grammar School Mamfe which has metamorphosed into Government High School Mamfe was created in 1969. This citadel of learning has sent out more than 25 batches with many of them serving in and out of the country in positions of responsibilities.
To match word with action, members who had turned out en masse for the monthly rendezvous after that of August 2009, hosted by the Kumba I DO, Thomas Tambe Tabot, began fulfilling their financial obligations towards the envisaged event and other association's demands.

Opening the meeting, Felix Akwa Nzeme thanked members for their massive attendance, admitting at the same time that the meeting recorded the highest attendance since the start of the chapter. He, however, frowned at the late start of the occasion and pleaded that subsequent meetings should begin earlier.

He also challenged members to contribute generously towards the upcoming anniversary.
Taking the floor, the host, Justice Paul Bachuo, called on members to be one each other's keeper. Bachuo emphasised on the importance of coming together under such a banner. The Learned State Counsel said familiarity was very important especially in times of problems.
He held that under the Umbrella of Mamfe Government Grammar School Old Student Association, MAGGSOSA, they could better know themselves and come to each other's help in times of need. He launched an appeal to those still in town and are yet to identify themselves with MAGGSOSA to do so as the train is on.

Before the more than 35 guests were treated to an unusually sumptuous dinner by the Justice and wife, the October 2009 meeting date was already fixed for 8 October 2009 at the residence of the Kumba III DO who also doubles as Chapter President.
The meeting was attended among others by the Kumba 1 Divisional Officer, Thomas Tambe Tabot, Dr. Gilbert Nzume of Ejed Medical Foundation Kumba, His Lordship Charles Mbiatem, one of the longest serving Deputy State Counsels at the Meme Legal department Kumba, Mr. Isaac Mukwelle Ngube, Pharmacist, Regional Hospital, Limbe and Meme IC CPDM section president, among others,
