Modalities for the Recruitment of 25 000 youths in Cameroon

The Minister of the Public Service and Administrative Reform, chairman of the Technical Committee for the Special Recruitment of 25 000 young Cameroonians into the Public Service, has given details of how the exercise shall be carried out.

Applicants have one month to compile and deposit their documents, in regional headquarters specifically at the governor’s office.
The Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms says the list of those that shall be selected shall be published on the 2nd of May 2011 and the new recruits shall be deployed by 6th of June 2011. 

The Minister also specified that all young Cameroonians with ages between 17years to 40 years, skilled or non skilled are eligible for recruitment.
Requests for recruitments shall be made within some thirty one fields that have been identified. These are;

III. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The selection shall be open to all Cameroonians who fulfil the following conditions:

- Meet all requirements for entry into the Public Service;

- Be at least 17 years old and at most 40 years old as at 30 April 2011.

IV. FILE COMPOSITION

Candidates’ complete application files shall be submitted, against a receipt, at the regional Delegations of the Ministry of the Public Service and Administrative Reform and the following Cameroon diplomatic missions: High Commissions of Abuja, Pretoria, London, Ottawa; and embassies of Dakar, Addis Ababa, Rabat, Paris, Brussels, Berlin, Riyadh, Peking, Washington and Brasilia not later than 14 April 2011 at 3:30 pm. The files shall comprise the following documents:

 
1. A folder bearing the region where file is submitted, candidate’s full names, nature of certificate presented, specialization and the job position solicited;

2. A filled recruitment form bearing a fiscal stamp. Forms are available at Ministry of the Public Service and Administrative Reform, its Regional Delegations or on the website: www.minfopra.gov.cm;

3. A certified true copy of birth certificate signed by a competent civil authority (Mayor, DO, SDO, Governor);

4. A certified true copy of the required certificate signed by a competent civil authority;

5. A photocopy of marriage certificate where applicable (No stamp required);

6. A photocopy of the National Identity card or passport;

7. A photocopy of certificate presented by candidate (No stamp required);

8. 4 (four) passport-size photographs;

9. Certificate of individuality where applicable;

10. A large stamped self-addressed envelope.

N.B.:

- Exceptionally, no registration fee shall be required.

- Incomplete or late files or files containing documents not signed by the competent authorities shall be simply rejected.

- Candidates are requested to submit only one file

V. RECRUITMENT CONDITIONS

Short-listed candidates shall be required to submit complete recruitment files.

Candidates’ certificates shall be authenticated and the quality of their non-conviction certificates verified. Those which shall present anomalies shall be rejected and the candidates automatically disqualified.

Successful candidates shall be recruited on the basis of a contract as State employees governed by the Labour Code.

Salaries shall be calculated on the basis of those provided for by the scale applicable to State employees governed by the Labour Code.

Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive.

2011 RACE OF HOPE

After Close to 8 hours of heavy downpour in Buea on the eve of the 16^th Edition of the Mount Cameroon Race of Hope, Saturday 26 February, 2011 turned out to be a very bright day with the sun taking its rise as early as 6am. With such bright weather, the more than 610 athletes who qualified to run the race in different categories stormed the Molyko Stadium before starting time to challenge Mount Cameroon in one of Africa’s cruellest foot race.

As the athletes gained the courage with hope to dare the roughest and steepest slopes to reach the highest point above sea level in West Africa, it became a point of attraction to many viewers. While some athletes gathered the steam putting up their talents and last strength to gain frontline positions, others turned out to be a source of humour to spectators as they showed no sign that they will cover at least 20 per cent of the race. Just about twenty minutes into the race, some athletes were already panting and others moving with their hands around their waists to support their weights. 

By 4 hours 30 minutes after start time, it was Eric Mbatcha who crossed the finishing line as this year’s winner. It became more of a North West Regional affair as second and third placed athletes, Godlove Gabsbun and Ibrahim Lawan respectively, also came from the North West Region. But surprisingly, one would have taken fourth placed runner, William Lyonga Mondoa, native of Fako for the winner. Young Lyonga Mondoa who comes from Wvasingi village in Buea, and who has featured between 4^th and 9^th positions in the last 5 editions of the race was escorted by a crowd of Buea inhabitants as their hero. He improves his racing time with 15 minutes. 2009 male champion Voffo Momo of the South Region in the French speaking part of Cameroon was 10^th in this edition while last years winner, Joseph Tiben Wirba, was hardly noticed in the race.

Some three foreign athletes animated this year’s edition of the race from the take-off point right up to the point they crossed Upper Farms into the forest. These foreign athletes, made of two Kenyans and one American (a certain Joseph) were at top speed at the beginning of the race, leading the race from the start to around midway between Upper Farms and Hut I on the ascent. They must have gradually lost strength as they were not heard of again by the time they crossed Hut One. But the American reached the Summit and back in a very discoursing position. Prominent in the Mount Cameroon Race was Mola Jackai, who was decorated during last the last edition as the oldest participant and most consistent in the race. He ran in the veteran category with the returning point at Upper Farms. The juniors ran to Hut One and back to the Molyko Stadium.

While new champions where made in the male category, just the same faces featured in the female class. Yvonne Ngwaya took 5hours 33 minutes 33seconds to confirm her supremacy in this category winning the race for the third consecutive time.  Yvonne’s elder sister Patience Ngwaya shifted from 2^nd position last year to 3^rd this year. Lizette Ngalim who came 3^rd last year finished 2^nd this year. It was still the athletes from the North West Region who dominated this category as they did same for the Junior, Relay and Veteran categories.

Despite criticisms by Buea dwellers on the lack of publicity like in the days of Guinness Mount Cameroon Races, this edition of the race turned out to be better organised compared to the last editions. Unlike the past editions that used to be planned in Yaounde by those in the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education and members of the National Athletics federation, this edition was handed over to local organisers in Fako, and Yaounde only provided the funds. Security was well ensured at most levels of the race. Uniformed men were placed from the start point right up to the Summit of Mount Cameroon.

However, Buea inhabitants have maintained that the race used to be so cheerful in the days Guinness Cameroon SA that one would not wish to miss it. Guinness used to organise a series of activities weeks prior to the race itself that used to catch the attention of many.

TRADITIONAL RULER

On day, a white man entered a certain village to exchange developmental ideas and went to see the head of the village, a chief.

 Theme: "You too have been call by Jesus Christ"

Just as He did with the four fishermen in the text.

We should forget all we have at he moment as the last two fishermen left their father in the boat and the hired men in water to follow Jesus Christ.

 He is calling us today as if via our mobile phone (heart).

We need to answer with a smiling face  and follow Him like the fishermen without delay as God looks for our future and not our past.

Preach the word to all so that they will join us to the heavenly kingdom.Heaven is too big for one person to get in .Jesus Christ will be glad to speak for us on the day of judgement.

Make ourselves a Bible for others to read.
